🪟 What Is a Side Lighting Transparent LED Display?
Unlike standard LED screens, this display mounts its LEDs sideways on ultra-slim aluminium louver strips, so ambient light and sightlines pass freely through the open gaps while the emitted LED light forms vivid content. The result is a "floating content" effect — video and graphics appear suspended in glass, keeping the space behind fully bright and open. By day it is clean and elegant. By night it becomes a signature luminous façade, a retail window or a creative architectural statement.

Key Features
|
🪟
Up to 90% Transparency
Minimum ≥85% light transmittance — up to ~90% on certain models. Natural daylight passes through freely. Interiors stay bright, open and visible. No more choosing between advertising and openness. |
✦
Floating Content Effect on Glass
Side-emitting LEDs on slim louvers make content appear to float against the glass. Videos, graphics and animations seem suspended in air — a premium, modern aesthetic that no opaque screen can replicate. |
|
⚖️
Ultra-Lightweight — 10 kg/m²
Slim aluminium profile construction at only ~10 kg/m². Dramatically reduces structural load on glass façades — less steelwork, lower keel requirements and significantly reduced project cost versus conventional LED cabinets. |
🔀
Curvable & Custom Shapes
Flexible modules support concave and convex curves, arcs, rings, sky domes and irregular glass configurations. Standard 1000×500mm panels mix to create any custom screen shape or size. |
|
🔧
Front Access — Fast Maintenance
Modular 1000×500mm panels with front-access service design. Modules replaced quickly from the safe side — no scaffolding or rear access required. Minimises downtime and labour for high-rise or façade installations. |
☀️
5,000 cd/m² — Day & Night Readable
High 5,000 cd/m² brightness ensures vivid visibility in direct sunlight. 16-bit grayscale and up to 3,840Hz refresh rate deliver smooth, flicker-free motion for camera shooting and live broadcast scenarios. |

❓
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes side-lighting different from regular transparent LED?
Standard transparent LEDs face forward. Side-lighting mounts LEDs sideways on slim louver strips — light travels through the open gaps so the content appears to float on glass. The result is a much cleaner, more open look with higher achievable transparency.
Will it block daylight inside my building?
No. Transparency is ≥85% — up to ~90% depending on model. Natural daylight passes freely through the open gaps. Interior spaces remain bright and sightlines stay open. This is the key reason architects specify side-emitting transparent LED for glass curtain walls.
Which pixel pitch should I choose?
P3-7 (3.91mm) for premium retail close-viewing. P7-7 for most commercial building façades. P10-10 for larger public and landmark projects. P15-15 for very large screens viewed from 50m+. Tell us your minimum viewer distance and screen dimensions — we'll confirm the right model.
Is it suitable for camera and broadcast use?
Yes. 16-bit grayscale, 60fps frame rate and up to 3,840Hz refresh (P15-15 model) minimise flicker and banding when captured by cameras. Suitable for broadcast backdrops, live streaming and professional video production environments.
How is it maintained at height on a façade?
Modular 1000×500mm panels with front-access design allow technicians to replace any module from the safe front side — no rear access or heavy scaffolding required. Individual modules are swapped in minutes, keeping façade downtime minimal.
Is it truly weatherproof outdoors?
The standard configuration is IP30. For projects with direct rain exposure, an outdoor weatherproofing package is configured per-project. Operating range is -20°C to +60°C (extended -40°C to +60°C available). Contact us with your installation environment details for the correct protection specification.
